I heard on the radio that our fearless leader is going to put an end to construction of the fence on the southern border because fences have proven to be ineffective. Instead, we will go back to an electronic "virtual fence" to supposedly keep illegals out.
Well, if they are so ineffective, why don't we just tear down the fence around the White House and set up an electronic "virtual fence" there? The President said that physical fences are ineffective, right?
Why don't we just take down all the fences that are around prisons? They are ineffective, right? We could just replace them with an electronic "virtual fence" and everything would be great. Better yet, forget the "virtual fence" and just put an electronic monitoring ankle band on all the violent felons currently in prison.
I don't have a link for this. I heard it being discussed on the radio while I was in the car this morning. I'm sure you'll hear more about it as the day goes on.

The Democrats have done all they could to encourage illegal immigration, and this is just part of that policy. I see why they do it, makes sense from their perspective. Wet backs are largely Hispanic. Democrats pander to Hispanics on a colossal scale, especially in places like California.
The more illegals get in, the more new Democratic voters there will be when Obama gets around to legalizing them all in one big lump, which is exactly what he intends to do. Doesn't matter what the effect on the country is, as long as it helps consolidate the Left Wing grip on power.
I tend to agree with you. I just find it hard to believe that people don't realize that they and their children and grandchildren will have to deal with the consequences. I guess the President will not have to deal with it due to permanent SS protection and guaranteed high income from book deals, etc. in the future, but his grandchildren will not have that protection.
Another aspect that gets support from Ds and Rs is that when these people are legalized they will be a new source of tax revenue, especially for social security. As the population ages and the so-called baby boomers start retiring there is going to be a large increase in demand on social security, medicare, medicaid, etc. and another 20+ million relatively young people seems like a good source for funds. I don't see that working out well.
And another thing, with all these newly amnestied people wanting stuff from more roads and more schools to changes in the healthcare system there will be plenty of "crisis" for the government to "solve" by spending our money and increasing the governments power.
