We took two of the does and put them in with two of the bucks last weekend. The does were willing and bucks were willing and seemed able. I guess we'll find out soon if they are going to breed like rabbits and start paying us back for the time and money we've put into them.
Now I've got to go build some nest boxes.

Many years ago I tried the rabbit breeding thing for about a year. I became overrun with the little critters and eventually turned them all loose on the farm. The foxes has a blast for a while. Several of the rabbits survived for a couple of years however and I would occasionally see a white rabbit a good distance from my home. You shouldn't have any problem raising them.
I have thought about this for some time and I can't wait to read more. I have read that rabbits are the easiest meat to raise with very little effort. Good luck my friend and please keep us posted on your progress.
These are on my list to learn to raise and butcher too. With careful, limited visitation, you should be able to keep them in check ;)
You will have more than you know what to do with in no time.Happy Munching. The critical time is when they are first born, keep them warm & close to the mom.Once they grow hair they sprout up quick
