A few weeks ago I took #3 son to the farm and he got to do a little shooting. Most of the time he could hit close enough to a can or plastic bottle at 10-12 yards to make it move. Not bad for a 6yo.
If you look at the upper right part of that little dust cloud you can see the can in the air.
While we were there I got a few pics of a dirt devil.
In the first pic it looks like a red smudge against the sky and a light brown line on the ground to the left of the shed, just below the horizon.
You can see it a little better in this one. The dark object in the lower left corner is the cab of a fair sized farm tractor. The white object near that is the top edge of a portable fuel tank. This little twister was fairly high.
In this pic you can see a tumble weed caught in it, near the right edge at ground level. We were glad it was way over there.
All in all it was a fun weekend.

Cool! Both the shooting and the capture of the Dust Devil. I'm fascinated by twisters, but I'd much rather be in close proximity to the small ones than the big ones.
